The book of Esther opens with two women. Vashti, who had the courage to say no. And Esther, who had the wisdom to know when — and how — to move. We don't read them as right and wrong. We read them as two expressions of strength.
Because sometimes strength is a refusal, and sometimes it's patience. Sometimes it's trusting God enough to move with wisdom instead of reacting in the moment.
